Ummm… Errr…. Sorry, Apple Can’t Produce iPhones in Africa

The suggestion by a Washington, D.C. lobbying firm that “there is no reason why Apple cannot produce iPhones in Africa instead of China” is the latest evidence of just how delusional the discourse in the U.S. capital is today.

Let’s start with the news this week that China shipped 26.32 million 5G phones in January alone, a pace that’s set to match last year’s quarter-billion output — mind you, we’re just talking about 5G devices and not the hundreds of millions of other phones that Chinese factories produced.
