Senior defense officials from at least 48 African countries took part in the second China-Africa Peace and Security Forum Ministerial Meeting that took place online on Monday.

General Wei Fenghe, China’s defense minister, delivered the keynote address during which he promoted Beijing’s new Global Security Initiative as a way to bolster ties with African militaries.
