Chinese Mining Interests Purportedly Block Congolese Government Investigators By Smashing Into Their Car

A new video surfaced today on Congolese social media where a DRC government delegation from Kinshasa claims that Chinese mining interests protected by FARDC soldiers blocked their inspection by intentionally causing a road accident.

Soon after the incident, one of the investigators recorded a testimonial of what happened (screenshot) and explained that the leader of his delegation was seriously injured in the accident.

He then went to accuse the assailants who crashed into his vehicle of being protected by FARDC soldiers who are helping the Chinese miners to operate illegally in the country.

It’s important to note that the date of this video and the precise location are both unknown. The significance though is that the pace of videos now appearing on DRC social media depicting bad behavior by Chinese nationals is quickening.

This trend is definitely gaining momentum.
