The social media managers at the Chinese consulate in Johannesburg seem quite eager to build audiences on their new Facebook and Twitter pages. Over the weekend they launched a new campaign to give away “lovely prizes” to new subscribers.

While their post seemed innocent enough, quite a few people commented that the post seemed dubious.
