Kenya or Djibouti: Who Will China Support For a Seat on the UN Security Council?

With only a few days left before next week’s election to fill the rotating open seat on the U.N. Security Council for the 2020-2021 term, a lot of the attention is now focused on China and whether it will throw its support behind Djibouti or Kenya.

The two African countries have been battling it out for months to win support from both their African Union peers and the Chinese who, as a permanent member of the Security Council plays an important role.
