Philippines FM Calls on China to “Stop Harrassing Us” While Beijing Blasts Manila for Provoking War in South China Sea

Statement by the Chinese embassy in the Philippines that "strongly condemned" remarks by Manila's ambassador to Washington who suggested the regular confrontations with Beijing in the South China Sea is "the real flashpoint" in Asia.

China and the Philippines launched a barrage of new invective, with each accusing the other of escalating territorial tensions in the South China Sea.

Philippine Foreign Minister Enrique Manalo on Monday bluntly called on China to “stop harassing us” as he appealed to other Southeast Asian countries to back his government in its showdown with Beijing.
