It’s interesting to compare Chinese news coverage from that African and international reports that are often starkly different from one another, even when discussing the same issues.

Effy Zhang is a Beijing-based reporter and Deputy Editor in Chief for the privately-run financial news outlet Caixin. Effy reports on global affairs for Caixin’s digital distribution arm, Caixin Media Globus, where he articles are distributed on WeChat, Weibo and the hugely popular news aggregator app Jinri Toutiao among others.
