Mphatso Katona grew up in Chilomoni Township in Blantyre City. He was Inspired by comics, radio and Television to become a media personality. After completing secondary education at Zingwangwa Secondary School, he joined Malawi Institute of Journalism. He thereafter upgraded his qualifications at the Polytechnic, University of Malawi where he did diploma in Journalism. He has worked for Seventh day Adventist Radio, Matindi FM and Times TV as a reporter and News Anchor before joining the Ministry of Information's Film Unit department.
