For the period from January to April 2026, Guinea ranked fifth among China’s trading partners in Africa. This position confirms Guinea’s growing importance over the past three years, made possible by its bauxite exports to China. Guinea is China’s leading supplier of bauxite.
Trade between the two countries reached $6.6 billion, with Guinea exporting $4.3 billion worth of goods to China, mostly bauxite, and importing $2.2 billion worth of Chinese goods. This left Guinea with a bilateral trade surplus of roughly $2.1 billion, a relatively rare position among African countries.
