Reuters reports that China’s customs authorities made a U-turn on a decision announced earlier to renew export licenses for hundreds of U.S. beef processing plants.

The move comes as U.S. President Donald Trump is advocating for new trade and investment deals in his summit with China’s President Xi Jinping. Despite the earlier announcement, customs authorities have reportedly halted the issuing of new export licenses.
