China’s President Xi Jinping led a series of high-profile meetings with global leaders in Beijing this week, as the global economy nervously eyes the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

China’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday called the blockade a “dangerous and irresponsible move” that “will only aggravate confrontation, escalate tension, undermine the already fragile ceasefire and further jeopardize safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.”
