China on Monday sharpened its public opposition to any moves that could unravel the fragile U.S.-Iran ceasefire, with Foreign Minister Wang Yi urging the international community to take a “clear stand” against steps that would reignite the conflict.

In a phone call with Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Wang said the immediate priority was to preserve the ceasefire and prevent a fresh round of fighting in the Middle East, while signaling Beijing’s continued support for diplomacy.
