Chinese President Xi Jinping is visiting Russia from 7 to 10 May. He will be one of the most prominent guests at the May 9 Victory Day parade marking Russia’s victory in World War II. He will also meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and will likely sign new cooperation agreements. China’s state press said the meeting will “inject new momentum” into the China-Russia relationship.

The agenda reportedly includes energy cooperation and the proposed Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline between the countries. Russia has been pushing the pipeline, but negotiations hinge on gas prices.
