Panama Canal Port Operator Calls Audit Claims ‘Contrary to Reality’

The Hong Kong firm in charge of two key Panama Canal ports rejected on Wednesday an audit that said it had failed to pay the $1.2 billion due under its concession.

Panama Ports Company (PPC), a subsidiary of Hong Kong conglomerate CK Hutchison, said in a statement that “to maintain… that PPC has failed to pay approximately $1,200 million balboas to the Panamanian State, is absolutely contrary to reality”.
