U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will visit Cambodia next week after attending the Shangri-la Dialogue in Singapore. The visit is widely seen as an effort to counter China’s enormous influence in the Southeast Asian country. (THE DIPLOMAT)

China’s Premier Li Qiang met with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Monday. It was the first trilateral meeting of the Northeast Asian powers in four years. They agreed on closer supply chain cooperation and to revive talks around a trilateral free trade agreement.  (ASSOCIATED PRESS)
