China Accuses the Philippines of Staging Another “Grounding” in the South China Sea

China is accusing the Philippines of using a pair of Coast Guard vessels to claim another shoal in disputed waters in the South China Sea.

The Chinese Communist Party tabloid Global Times published the claim on Wednesday when it said that the Philippines Coast Guard (PCG) had intentionally “grounded” the ships for the past 45 days as a way to illegally lay claim to the Sabina Shoal.
