Indonesia’s President-elect Prabowo Subianto met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday in Beijing and promised his new government will maintain close ties with Beijing. Prabowo is now in Tokyo for two days where he will deliver a similar message to Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. (ASSOCIATED PRESS)

Sri Lanka Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena wrapped up a five-day visit to Beijing on Saturday and received fresh assurances China will support the ongoing debt restructuring process. In a joint statement released over the weekend, the Chinese government pledged to work closely with Sri Lanka’s Creditor Committee and the IMF to “achieve debt sustainability.” (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST)
