China’s Maritime Militia and Coast Guard Block Philippines Re-Supply Mission to Troops on Disputed Shoal

A Philippine re-supply mission successfully evaded an attempted blockade of the disputed Scarborough Shoal in the South China Sea when it finally maneuvered around China Coast Guard (CCG) and maritime militia vessels.

Their first attempt was scuttled on Thursday when Filipino ships carrying food and fuel for compatriot fishermen at the shoal were blocked by the Chinese. But by Sunday, a Filipinio ship carrying provisions did eventually make it through.
