China Will Not Tolerate The Philippines Building on Disputed Islands in the South China Sea, Says Spokesperson

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning made it clear on Tuesday that Beijing will actively oppose any effort by the Philippines to upgrade any of its outposts on disputed islands in the South China Sea.

Philippine military chief General Romeo Brawner said on Monday that plans are underway to develop facilities on the nine islands Manila controls to make them more hospitable for troops.
