China-Myanmar Naval Drills Follow Beijing’s Dispatching of Troops to Restive Border Region

China and Myanmar are conducting joint naval drills as the junta government loses ground to militia groups in its northeast border region with China.

The maritime exercises come days after China conducted its own land-based drills in Yunnan Province near its border with Myanmar, where increasingly chaotic events have unsettled Beijing.
