Africa-China Meetings Give Glimpse of Next Year’s FOCAC Agenda

Officials from 53 African countries and the African Union Commission are meeting in Beijing this week to discuss the implementation of goals agreed at the 2021 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit in Dakar.

The 16th Senior Officials Meeting brings together about 300 delegates and marks a step towards next year’s FOCAC summit in Beijing. While the agenda for that gathering will remain under wraps for months, this week’s discussion is likely a precursor that will inform it.
