One of China’s most senior diplomats in Africa, Ambassador Chen Xiaodong in South Africa, took to Twitter to brag that once again, his country seemingly outperformed the United States in evacuating its nationals from a conflict zone in North Africa.

Chen’s Tweet was part of a broader media campaign that highlighted the different approaches taken by the U.S. and China during the recent evacuations of their personnel from Sudan.
