Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan arrived in Beijing on Wednesday for a two-day visit that includes meetings with Prime Minister Li Keqiang and President Xi Jinping.
President Hassan is the first African leader to go to Beijing following President Xi’s coronation to an unprecedented third presidential term in office. The fact that Tanzania was chosen for this distinction is not surprising given that it was one of the first countries President Xi visited in 2013, soon after he assumed the presidency.
