Communist Party of China Appoints New Diplomatic Head

The Communist Party of China (CPC) has appointed Liu Jianchao as the new head of its International Liaison Department, the Party’s diplomatic arm.

Liu is the former ambassador to Indonesia and the Philippines. He also headed the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the body that pursued corruption suspects internationally, as part of President Xi Jinping’s anti-graft campaign.
