New Chinese-Built Internet Cable Lands in Seychelles

The Chinese-built Pakistan & East Africa Connecting Europe (PEACE) sub-sea internet cable has now been extended to the African island nation of Seychelles. President Wavel Ramkalawan (photo) and Ambassador Guo Wei led a ceremony last week to mark the cable’s landing in the Indian Ocean island state.

The cable, being laid by Huawei Marine, is expected to dramatically improve African broadband capacity.
