Conservative U.S. Media Outlets Focus Their Ire on China’s Ambassador to South Africa

China’s ambassador to South Africa, Lin Songtian, tweeted for the first time just six months ago. If the outspoken envoy planned from the beginning to use his new social media presence to provoke the United States, well, mission accomplished!

Ambassador Lin has emerged as one of the most vocal critics of the United States among high-level Chinese officials. He has now become a central figure in the increasingly bitter dispute between the two countries over the origins of the COVID-19 outbreak.
