China’s outspoken envoy to South Africa, Ambassador Lin Songtian, is once again providing commentary on highly-sensitive political issues that are far beyond his normal jurisdiction.
Ambassador Lin has emerged as one of Beijing’s most prominent online voices, particularly on Twitter, where he forcefully promotes Chinese positions on contentious issues ranging from political unrest in Hong Kong, human rights issues in Xinjiang to his comments today on the legality of the U.S. targeted assassination of the Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad.
