Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko signed a deal aimed at transforming his country’s public transport sector during his state visit to China. The deal would see the establishment of an industrial assembly facility that will produce gas and electric buses. It aims to replace 40,000 diesel buses.

The agreement with the Chinese bus company Yutong and Zhenhuai Construction Group involves Senegal’s Land Transport Development Fund (FDTT), the Urban Transport Financing Association (AFTU), and the China Africa Investment and Development (CAID) will also upgrade bus stations and provide green recharging infrastructure.
