Chinese officials typically do not come out and say that their development model should be adopted by other countries as that could be construed as interfering in another state’s internal affairs. Instead, that message is increasingly conveyed through Communist Party-controlled media outlets like China Daily, CGTN, and Xinhua among others where scholars, journalists, and other stakeholders make the case.
This trend has been evident in recent weeks during the Two Sessions legislative gathering that just wrapped up in Beijing where Chinese officials touted the elimination of extreme poverty and how the country’s economy is seemingly recovering well from the COVID-19 pandemic.
