Security, Energy Top Agenda in Algerian President’s Talks With Xi

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune was greeted by Chinese President Xi Jinping in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on July 18, 2023.

“China is our most important friend,” declared Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in his opening remarks during talks in Beijing with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

Abdelmadjid met with Xi on Tuesday during a high-profile five-day visit that is being closely watched by China’s rivals in the U.S. and Europe, who also regard Algeria as a pivotal energy supplier.
