Kenyan President William Ruto met his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden at the White House on Wednesday, marking the first African state visit in 16 years.

Although Kenya’s burgeoning debt crisis was widely expected to be high on the agenda, that doesn’t appear to have happened as other issues, namely security and trade, dominated the discussions between the two leaders.
