The Chinese government confirmed that Foreign Minister Qin Gang will attend a G20 forum in New Delhi on Thursday at the invitation of his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar.

Qin will be the first Chinese foreign minister to visit India since his predecessor Wang Yi traveled there before the pandemic in 2019. Since then, ties between the two Asian powers have deteriorated rapidly, culminating in a series of clashes along their disputed border in the Himalayas.
