Regular listeners of our podcast may have heard me discuss some of my anxieties about artificial intelligence and the threat that tools like ChatGPT and Google Bard pose to small independent news organizations like ours.

In April, when U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken traveled to Vietnam and I was preparing to write a story on the day, I thought, “let’s see what ChatGPT (4.0) can do.” So, I typed just three words into the search field: “Blinken visit Vietnam” and within seconds, it came back with a response that made the blood drain from my head.
