Beijing Says Economic Ties Will Trump Argentina’s Election of ‘Anti-China’ Milei

China expressed assurance that close economic ties with Argentina will override threats by the country’s newly elected president to downgrade relations with Beijing.

Questions about the future of the countries’ traditionally strong bilateral relations are being raised after Monday’s landslide victory of radical libertarian Javier Milei, who while campaigning called China an “assassin” and repeatedly suggested breaking ties with all “communist” systems.
