China, Somalia Deepen Ties in High-Level Talks

Somalia moved to reinforce relations with China on Monday in a series of high-level meetings in Mogadishu, putting Beijing’s role in the Horn of Africa back in focus.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met Hu Changchun, China’s special envoy to the Horn of Africa, while Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali held separate talks with the envoy on expanding bilateral cooperation.
