Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged his Iranian counterpart to seize all opportunities for peace talks. In a call with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Wang reportedly said that “talking is always better than fighting” and that he hopes “all parties would seize every opportunity and window of opportunity for peace and initiate the peace process as soon as possible.”

According to a Chinese Foreign Ministry readout of the conversation, Araghchi said: “Iran is committed to a comprehensive ceasefire, not just a temporary one.”
