Indonesia plans to cut coal output in 2026 after exports to China and India slumped, dragging prices lower and forcing a supply reset.

Indonesia plans to cut coal production in 2026 after exports to China and India fell sharply last year and prices declined, Indonesian Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said.

He said Indonesia would reduce coal output to around 600 million tons this year, down from 790 million tons in 2025. He said the final figure was still being calculated.
