Marcos Downplays Taiwan Comments After Chinese Pushback

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. downplayed recent comments linking the Philippines to a possible conflict over Taiwan, following an angry reaction from China.

During his visit to India last week, he said that “there is no way that the Philippines can stay out of” a possible conflict over Taiwan, because of the large Philippine population that lives on the island.
