Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly said on Wednesday that Russia is planning joint military exercises with China in 2025. No details about the date and nature of the exercises were released. China and Russia last held joint exercises in September 2024 off Russia’s eastern coast. (REUTERS)

The first-ever Global South Economic Forum was held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. Purposely overlapping with the G7 summit, the forum was arranged by the UAE’s Center of Geoeconomics for the Global South with the participation of several think tanks, including China’s Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies. It featured more than 100 policymakers and think tankers from 20 developing countries, and the keynote was delivered by Zhang Yiming, China’s ambassador to the UAE. (BASTILLE POST)
