China Calls for End of Gaza Bombings

The Chinese Foreign Ministry called for steps to avoid further casualties as Israeli bombings resumed in Gaza. The death toll from the current round of bombing has risen past 400Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “Negotiations will continue only under fire” and that “this is just the beginning.”

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said: “China is closely following the ongoing situation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. We hope parties will work to enable the continuous and effective implementation of the ceasefire agreement, refrain from any escalatory action, and prevent further deepening the humanitarian disaster.”
