Shanghai Cooperation Organization Decries Sanctions and Tariffs

China, Russia, and Iran’s ongoing disagreements with Western power provided the frame for this year’s heads of government meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The ten-state Eurasian security grouping met in Islamabad, Pakistan, this week.

The joint statement released at the end of the gathering criticized growing divisions in the global trade system:
