Chinese Communist Party’s Top Diplomat Wraps Up South Africa Tour, Expressing Confidence in New Government

The head of the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) international department, Liu Jianchao, wrapped up a five-day visit to South Africa on Sunday where he met with leaders of the new Government of National Unity (GNU).

On Friday, Liu held talks with President Cyril Ramaphosa and expressed confidence in the new governing coalition. Liu also met with Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola and Secretary-General of the ANC Fikile Mbalula.
