Newly released commercial satellite photos of a People’s Liberation Army-Air Force (PLAAF) base in Tibet is prompting alarm in India over the deployment of a fleet of advanced fighter jets and communications aircraft.

The photos were taken on May 27th at the Shigatse dual-use airport and revealed a squadron of six J-20 stealth fighter jets, the PLAAF’s most advanced aircraft, along with eight J-10s and a KJ-500 early warning and control plane that operates much like a U.S. AWAC.
