Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. will meet with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken next Tuesday to discuss the escalating tensions with Beijing in the South China Sea. Separately, a summit with Marcos and the leaders of Japan and the U.S. is in the final planning stage and is set to take place next month in Washington, D.C. (REUTERS)

Chinese EV giant BYD sent a team to the central Mexican state of Jalisco to investigate whether to build a manufacturing plant there. Company officials met with local authorities and Chinese auto parts suppliers already operating in the state. The plant, if built, will produce cars that will be sold in the Latin American market and not in the U.S. or Canada. (BLOOMBERG)
