WEEK IN REVIEW: Australia to Call on China to Remove Remaining Economic Sanctions on Imported Australian Products

Australia’s Trade Minister Don Farrell said he would call on his Chinese counterpart Wang Wentao to remove all remaining economic sanctions on imported Australian products when they meet later this month.  Beijing imposed tariffs on Australian goods in 2020 after Canberra called for an investigation into the origins of COVID-19. (REUTERS)

The U.S. government’s Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is now moving forward with its plans to refurbish the Lobito corridor linking Zambia’s copperbelt to Angola’s Atlantic coast. The DFC’s board approved $260 million in loans for infrastructure and business development along the rail line. (DFC.GOV)
