Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi again dismissed the idea that Chinese projects are trapping Africa in debt, instead calling them ‘monuments of cooperation.’

Wang made the remarks on Monday at a press conference on the sidelines of the Two Sessions meeting that will set the government’s agenda for the next year. Many of the questions focused on Ukraine and Russia. Wang didn’t budge from previous positions, disappointing those who had hoped for growing distance between Moscow and Beijing.
