Lots and Lots of Meetings in Both China and Africa Ahead of FOCAC

The African diplomatic corps in China often take the lead in negotiating the key agenda topics for major events like the upcoming FOCAC summit and often work together as a block. 

Tanzania’s ambassador, Mbelwa Kairuki, met on Tuesday with peers from Senegal and Ethiopia at the Senegalese embassy in Beijing to discuss the conference. Interestingly, his tweet is the first public confirmation from either Chinese or African officials that the event will take place in November.
