Washington’s Former Top Diplomat For Africa: “China’s Kicking Our Tails Everywhere”

Tibor Nagy, the top U.S. diplomat for Sub-Saharan Africa under ex-President Trump, re-surfaced for the first time since he left Washington in January. Nagy, like his State Department boss Mike Pompeo, was a vocal critic of China so it shouldn’t be a huge surprise that he described Beijing’s growing influence in dystopian terms:  “A China-centric world would favor nations with no fundamental freedoms, no competitive elections, no civil society, state control of life from birth to death and of basic day-to-day functions.”
