China’s Ambassador to South Africa Really Seems Like He’s Trolling the United States Government

China’s outspoken ambassador to South Africa, Lin Songtian, tweeted an offer for assistance to the United States in their fight against COVID-19, a gesture many in Washington probably view as disingenuous.

Ambassador Lin has emerged as one of the most vocal high-level Chinese critics of the United States. On a couple of occasions over the past few months he has even used the word “evil” in reference to Washington.

So, it’s highly unlikely that anyone in either the U.S. embassy in Pretoria or at the State Department in Washington took the ambassador’s offer seriously but maybe that wasn’t even the point? Ambassador Lin is still relatively new to Twitter but he seems to b a quick study in trolling his rivals.
