Beijing Rallies to Defend Ethiopian Airlines’ Decision to Maintain Direct Flights to China

Now that China is becoming increasingly isolated due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the government appears to be making a concerted effort to stave off being disconnected entirely from the outside world due to most international airlines having halted direct flights to/from the mainland.

Ethiopian Airlines, though, is bucking the trend by continuing to fly to all five cities it serves in China, albeit with smaller planes and less frequently. And the Chinese government seems to really appreciate the gesture.
